I am Akiko YAJIMA M.D., director of the Sapporo Female Clinic.
For more than 15 years, I have worked in the breast and proctology units at several hospitals, and also in medical check centres, mainly for breast cancer screening.
Through these experiences, I have recognized that many female patients feel embarrassed or self-conscious and often hesitate to see a doctor, even if they have symptoms that are worrisome.
As a result, I became determined to open a unique type of clinic for women.
This is a place that is comfortable and accessible, where female patients can feel cosy and confident while consulting a female doctor about their health problems or concerns in delicate areas such as the “breast” and “buttocks”.
In addition, all of our staff members are female including the clinical radiologist and myself.
We also ask male visitors to refrain from entering the clinic during consultation hours, with exceptions for special circumstances.
My motto is to provide detailed and easy-to-understand explanations during the consultation to help you achieve a better understanding of your condition, which is the key to commencing a smooth course of treatment.
